Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Kibale Forest National Park, lunch in Fort Portal town, afternoon Fort Portal Crater Lake hike and visit the Amabere g’ Nnyinamwiru caves

Day 2: Do morning Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi wetland walk in the afternoon

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, visit the Rwenzori Art Foundation – the only bronze casting center in Africa & Ruboni Community craft & wax center en route & do the crater area drive upon arrival

Day 4: Do morning game drive & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Day 5: Do gorilla trekking & an evening Cultural encounter with the Batwa Communities

Day 6: Transfer back to Kampala, Traditional Lunch at Igongo Cultural Center & a stop at Uganda Equator crossing Kayabwe

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park & do an afternoon boat cruise & evening game drive

After breakfast, embark on the transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park 417km about 7 hours’ drive from Kampala. The drive will take you through impressive Uganda’s country side landscapes including the traditional rangelands of Ankole and the scenic Bunyaruguru crater field. You arrive in time for lunch in Queen Elizabeth National Park after which you will gather at Mweya for a thrilling boat cruise on the 45km long Kazinga Channel with the impressive views of aquatic wildlife like Nile Crocodiles, Hippos, birds and a range of other wild game like elephants, buffaloes & antelopes drinking on the channel side. The boat takes 2 hours and stretches to the shores of Lake Edward overlooking the Congo boarder. Retreat from the activity, do a game drive along the channel track and extend a little to the savannah plains of Kasenyi as time may allow before heading to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Do morning Chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura Gorge & transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, embark on the transfer to Kyambura gorge to catch up with the chimpanzee trekking in the morning at 8am. The encounter in Kyambura takes about 2 – 5 hours trekking the gorge with its steep slopes and verdant vegetation cover that inhabits it. The views of the flowing river on the gorge floor are also rewarding. The Chimpanzee trek is very interesting as you see them roll themselves on tree branches, make pant hooting calls and socialize. Retreat from the activity and embark on the transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park arriving in the evening for relaxation dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Do Gorilla trekking & transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for an evening boat cruise & relaxation

After your early morning hefty breakfast, your driver guide will drive you with your packed lunch, bottled water, to the Park head Quarters in your respective Bwindi gorilla trekking region for an early morning briefing at about 70:30am to 8:00am about etiquettes of gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. While at the park headquarters, you will meet other trekkers and you will be divided into groups of eight individuals who are only allowed to trek one specific habituated Gorilla family. After briefing, UWA experienced ranger guide will lead you to the trail heads where thrilling gorilla trekking experience starts from. You will entre in the ancient, thick dark impenetrable forest to begin hiking the hills and slopping the valleys when looking for the unique species of the mountain gorillas inhabited in the famous Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The trek can take you between 2-8 hours to meet face to face with the mountain gorillas and once up close, you will be allowed to spend one magical hour with these stunning apes. During this time you can decide to sit down listen to gorilla crumble, study how these apes go about their daily activities and you can take as many photos as possible. When the one hour is done, you will walk back to the park headquarters and embark on the transfer to Lake Bunyonyi via the fascinating Kigezi Highlands. You can then undertake a sunset boat cruise on the lake of a thousand islands exploring its main islands before retiring for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala. Lunch stop at Igongo Cultural Center & another stop at Uganda Equator crossing Kayabwe

After a relaxed breakfast, embark on the transfer to Kampala. You will drive through impressive landscapes of south western Uganda before arriving in Mbarara the largest town in the Sub region. You will make a traditional lunch stop at Igongo Cultural Center 12km past Mbarara and another stop at the Uganda Equator crossing Kayabwe for amazing photo shoots and water experiments. Proceed for 77km to arrive in Kampala in the evening marking the end of the safari.
