Day 1 of the 5 Days Rwanda Gorilla Tour and Chimpanzee Safari in Rwanda: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park in the south west of Rwanda.  Make a stop in Butare to visit the National Institute of Rwandan Museum in Butare

Following breakfast in Kigali (own arrangement), you embark on the drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park 268km about 6 hours drive. The drive through the scenic country side in the south of Rwanda is magical and rewarding. You make a stop at Nyanza to visit the Rukaari also referred to as the Royal palace to explore the site of the ancient Kingdom of Rwanda where the last two Kings are known to have lived namely King Musinga and his Son King Rudahigwa. You explore the traditional hut, the art and craft and the traditional Inyambo cows which can also arrange a parade. Proceed on the drive to Butare where you will settle for lunch and tour the Ethnographic Museum – the largest Museum in Rwanda with over 100,000 collections detailing the history and heritage of Rwanda.  Proceed to Nyungwe Forest National Park arriving for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 2 of the 5 Days Rwanda Gorilla Tour and Chimpanzee Safari in Rwanda: Undertake Chimpanzee trekking experience and afternoon canopy walk

After breakfast, gather at the Headquarters of Nyungwe Forest National Park for your Rwanda Chimpanzee trekking safari experience. The briefing commences at 8am after which you set out to the forest in search of these precious apes. The trek can last 2 – 5 hours and the direct viewing is limited to one hour for purposes of conservation. The Rwanda Chimp trek through the moist deciduous forest of Nyungwe presents a lovely encounter with lush flora, impressive bird species, forest fauna before encountering the Chimpanzees as they forage, copulate, patrol, socialize among other interesting aspects. The forest is also a home to other 12 species of Primate including the largest grouping of Black and White Colobus Monkeys in Africa. Retire for relaxation and lunch. In the afternoon, you embark on the Nyungwe Forest Canopy walk which is the first of its kind in the region of East Africa stretching to 40m and over 90m high presenting magnificent views of the forest   and its inhabitants. The walk can last for 2 hours after which you retreat to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight

The drive is whole day presenting fascinating views of the Rwanda’s countryside including the views of Lake Kivu and the resort town of Kibuye. Arrive in Volcanoes in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 4 of the 5 Days Rwanda  Gorilla Tour and Chimpanzee Safari: Undertake gorilla trekking and visit the Musaze Caves in the afternoon

After a good breakfast at your lodge, you gather at the Volcanoes Park Headquarters Kinigi   for the Rwanda Gorilla trekking experience. The encounter commences at 8am in the morning with gorilla family allocation and briefing but an earlier arrival offers you chances of enjoying the magical performances of the Kinyarwanda dance troupe and a self served warm cup of coffee.  You embark on the hike through the jungle of Volcanoes on the slopes of the Virunga Volcanoes traversing the challenging landscapes, slippery surfaces, the dense jungle whilst enjoying the impressive bird songs and other jungle sounds. Your moment with the Rwanda Mountain Gorillas is a lifetime exciting memory as you will view them forage, play, socialize, and care for the young among other aspects. The viewing is limited to one hour for conservation purposes though the entire Rwanda Gorilla tracking experience can last from 2 – 8 hours. In the afternoon, you embark on the exploration of Musaze Caves one of the historical caves of Rwanda. The Musaze Caves date far back to 65 million years ago from the lava flow from the Volcanic Mountains of Bisoke and Sabyinyo mountains. The Musaze caves stretch to 2km inside featuring 31 cave entrances and a huge bat colony on the cave roof. You are accompanied by an armed army personnel and the walk would last about 2 hours.  Retire for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 5 of the 5 Days Rwanda Gorilla Tour and Chimpanzee Safari: Transfer to Kigali City and visit the Gisozi genocide memorial in the afternoon

Following your relaxed breakfast, embark on the transfer to Kigali City 116km about 2 -3 hours exploring the amazing sceneries en route before arriving in Kigali. Upon arrival, you embark on the tour to the Gisozi genocide memorial which features various remains of some section of the Rwandese that lost their lives in the bloody genocide that befell Rwanda in the year 1994. The site gives you a themed learning ground for the Rwanda’s horrific past. Retire to mark the end of the tour. You can catch up with a night flight if you have one.
