Day 1 of the 7 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari,  Wildlife,Chimpanzee Trek & Cultural Safari: Arrive at Kigali International Airport Rwanda and drive to Volcanoes National Park

You arrive in Rwanda at the famous Kigali International Airport where you are welcomed by the company representative, attend to short briefing about the trip and then embark on the transfer to Volcanoes National Park 116km about 2 – 3 hours drive. The drive to the north west of the Country presents remarkable views of the scenic countryside with rolling hills and magical settlements. Retire for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 2 of the 7 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari,  Wildlife,Chimpanzee Trek & Cultural Safari: Do gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park and drive to Gisenyi beaches on Lake Kivu

Gather at Kinigi ranger post to catch up with briefing commencing at 8am. The early arrival allows you to catch up with a warm cup of coffee as you watch the traditional Kinyarwanda performance going on.  Attend to the briefing by the Park rangers in your respective gorilla families allocated to you after which you embark on the hike in the jungle in search of the endangered Mountain Gorillas. The walk in the Volcanic dense jungle is accompanied by beautiful sights of lovely flora, unique sceneries including the eight Virunga mountain chain and the lakes below, the forest fauna including duikers, birds before approaching the critically endangered mountain gorillas that have thrived in the area for millions of years past. Explore the gentle giants foraging on their precious shrubs and other edibles, socialize, the silverback demonstrating its might, the young ones play among other interesting aspects. The entire trek takes 2 – 8 hours with direct viewing limited to one hour for purposes of conservation. The opportunity is availed to you to take as many photos as possible commemorating your lifetime gorilla safari experience. You retreat from the activity and embark on the drive to Gisenyi Lake Kivu 110km about 2 hours drive for an evening recreational experience on the Lake Kivu beaches. You can take a swim in the Bilharzia free waters or do sun bathing on the shores or take an optional boat ride. Retire for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Following a relaxed breakfast amidst the fresh air from the lake, you transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park 294km about 7 hours’ drive exploring the magical views of the Nile Congo divide trail. You make a lunch stop at Kibuye one of the resort towns on Lake Kivu after which you proceed to Nyungwe arriving in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, gather at the Headquarters of Nyungwe Forest National Park for Chimpanzee trekking experience. The briefing commences at 8am after which you set out to the forest in search of these precious apes. The trek can last 2 – 5 hours and the direct viewing is limited to one hour for purposes of conservation. The trek through the moist deciduous forest of Nyungwe presents a lovely encounter with lush flora, impressive bird species, forest fauna before encountering the Chimpanzees as they forage, copulate, patrol, socialize among other interesting aspects. The forest is also a home to other 12 species of Primate including the largest grouping of Black and White Colobus Monkeys in Africa.    Retire for relaxation and lunch. In the afternoon, you embark on the Nyungwe Forest Canopy walk which is the first of its kind in the region of East Africa stretching to 40m and over 90m high presenting magnificent views of the forest   and its inhabitants. The walk can last for 2 hours after which you retreat to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 5 of the 7 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari,  Wildlife,Chimpanzee Trek & Cultural Safari: Drive to Akagera National Park. Make a stop en route to visit the Ethnographic Museum at Butare & Nyanza palace

After breakfast, you drive to Akagera National Park 403km about 8 hours drive. You drive along the magnificent landscapes of Rwanda before making a stop in Butare to visit the Ethnographic Museum – the largest in Rwanda if not in the whole of East Africa featuring a count of over 100,000 artifacts detailing the history and heritage of Rwanda. Another stop is made at Nyanza to visit the Royal Palace commonly known as Rukaari where the two Kings of Rwanda namely King Musinga and King Rudahigwa his son lived. The palace features a magnificent traditional hut, the King’s equipment and the traditional Inyambo cows which are worth exploring. You proceed for lunch in Kigali after which you proceed to Akagera National Park arriving in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight

The rolling savannah landscapes of Akagera National Park is the only habitat of its kind in Rwanda with a myriad of wild game suitable to be explored on a safari in Rwanda like this. The early morning drive through the park presents opportunity to explore the range of species including elephants, Masaai Giraffe, Buffaloes, Topis, Roan Antelopes, leopards, Lions, waterbucks among others. The wild game viewing encounter lasts 3 – 4 hours after which you retreat to the lodge for relaxation and lunch. In the afternoon, you embark on the boat cruise on Lake Ihema.  The Akagera National Park features the most extensive protected wetland system in central Africa.  Lake Ihema one of the lakes in the park presents the likely views of Nile Crocodiles, Hippopotamus and water birds. Transfer to Kigali after a relaxed breakfast 135kim about 2 hours drive enjoying the impressive sceneries en route including the possible sights of traditional Inyambo cows in Rwamagana before approaching Kigali. Upon arrival in Kigali, you tour the Kigali genocide Museum also referred to as Gisozi genocide memorial to learn into the Rwanda’s past.   The Museum commemorates the horrific genocide that hit Rwanda in the 1994 where a count of 800,000 people lost their lives. You retire from the activity, settle for lunch and connect to Kigali International Airport for flight departure back home.
