4 Days Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari Uganda Wildlife Tour – Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, embark on the drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park 417km about 7 hours drive. You will drive out of Kampala towards the south west after which you will make a stop at the equator crossing Kayabwe 77km from Kampala for photo shooting and water experiments featuring the geographical separation between the north and southern hemispheres.

Continue on the journey through the farmed hill sides and the range lands of Ankole before making a lunch stop at Igongo cultural center 12km to Mbarara town.

After lunch, continue on the drive to Queen Elizabeth and upon arrival, you undertake an evening game drive in the Savannah landscapes of Queen Elizabeth NP with possibilities of exploring the Savannah game including the Elephants, Buffaloes, Cats like leopards among other species before retiring for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 2: Undertake a Thrilling Morning Game Drive, Kazinga Channel Launch Cruise in The Afternoon & Evening Game Drive Along The Channel Track

Wake up for an early morning 3 – 4 hour game drive though the Kasenyi tracks where you will have chances of viewing a range of wildlife. Some of these include; lions, elephants, Buffaloes, Antelopes, jackals, among others.

You will marvel at them as they gather what to put in their stomachs and others taking a rest. The Savannah landscape in which they thrive is an attraction in its self.

Return to the lodge for relaxation till lunch time after which you will gather at Mweya for a launch cruise on Kazinga channel at 3:00pm.

The 2 hour launch cruise takes you through the offers of the 45m long Kazinga channel including impressive views of the Nile crocodiles, Hippos, abundant bird life and a range of wild game quenching their thirst along the channel waters.

Drive along the channel track for more wild game viewing before connecting to the lodge relaxation and overnight.

Day 3: Undertake a Whole Day Extension in The Ishasha Sector in Search of Tree-climbing Lions

This is dedicated for a whole day encounter in the Ishasha sector to the south of Queen Elizabeth National Park famous for the tree climbing lions.

The Savannah stretches of Queen Elizabeth NP feature counts of fig tree species that have low lying branches which do not provide a favorable ground for these lions to climb but also offering clear and beautiful chances for viewing these lions.

Ishasha sector is 74km about 1 – 2 hours drive from the northern part of Queen. The drive in Ishasha also offers you possibilities of exploring other wildlife species like defassa water bucks, the Uganda Kobs, elephants, Topis among others.

Retreat in the evening and embark on the drive back to the northern sector and do game drive as you connect to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 4: Undertake Chimpanzee Trekking in Kyambura Gorge And Drive to Kampala

Following breakfast at your place of stay, you embark on the chimpanzee trekking in either Kyambura gorge or Kalinzu Forest Reserve depending on the Chimpanzee availability in those tow destinations at the time of visiting.

You explore one of the Big Apes thriving in their natural habitat. The encounter commences at 8am and takes between 2 – 5 hours with one hour of direct viewing exploring them as they feed, patrol, copulate and socialize.

Retreat from the activity and transfer to Kampala 417km about 7 hours’ drive arriving in the evening to mark the end of the tour.
