10 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari Gorilla & Chimps Trekking Tour – Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park from Kampala. (Visit Ziwa Rhinos & Hike Top of The Falls)
Transfer after breakfast to Murchison Falls National Park in the north west of Uganda. You will pass through the flat Savannah landscapes of Nakasongora before branching off a little at Nakitoma 115km from Kampala for 7 km drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track white rhinos that only thrive at this place in the whole of Uganda.
Continue to Masindi for lunch after which you will proceed to Murchison Falls National Park to hike the top of the falls.
The hike to the top of the falls exposes you to the roaring sounds of the Nile River as it squeezes itself through an 8m gorge to fall 43m below the Devils Cauldron forming a plume of spray marked with a trade mark rainbow. Check in at your lodge for overnight.
Drive Distance: 311km Drive time: 5 hours.

Day 2: Do Game Drive & Boat Cruise
Wake up early enough for a cup of coffee before arriving at Paraa to catch up with the ferry crossing at 7:00am to the northern bank of the Nile.
Upon crossing, you will drive through the amazing rolling Savannah combretum dotted with enormous numbers of wildlife including; Elephants, Buffaloes, giraffes, Jackson hartebeest, Uganda Kobs, bush bucks, waterbucks, lions and if lucky elusive leopard.
The 3 – 4 hour game drive is a rewarding encounter of typical African game. Return to the lodge for relaxation till lunch after which you will gather at Paraa for Nile Launch cruise starting at 2pm.
The 3 hour boat cruise exposes you magical offerings of the Nile including the rare shoe bill stork, Nile crocodiles, Hippos, and wild game drinking on the river side. The launch trip stretches to the bottom of the falls. Return to the lodge for overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park
The drive to Kibale National Park is not an ordinary journey; it involves driving through the lush country side dotted by amazing features of earth movements including the Albertine rift valley.
The farmed landscapes bring out the typical African villages that you have always heard of or wished to see on your safari like this safari in Uganda.
Kibale is 441km about 9 hours’ drive from Murchison Falls National Park. The lunch stop will be made in Hoima town dubbed the oil city and continuous drive will see you arrive in Fort Portal and Kibale in particular in the evening overlooking the mystical Ruwenzori Mountains famously known as the mountains of the moon.

Day 4: Do Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Wetland Walk

Day 5: Visit Sempaya Hot Springs & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, embark on the drive to Semuliki National Park 78km about 2 – 3hours. You will pass through Fort Portal town and continue to Semuliki.
You will take a 2 – 4 hour nature walk to Sempaya hot springs where you will marvel at these natural springs boiling beyond 100 Degrees Celsius sprouting up to 2m high.
You can boil your plantain or an egg to have it ready within minutes. Have a picnic lunch at the hot springs after which you will embark on the drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park 196km about 5 hours.
The amazing views of snow-capped Ruwenzori Mountains will accompany you on your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will arrive in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Do Game Drive & Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel
Wake up for an early morning 3 – 4 hour game drive though the Kasenyi tracks where you will have chances of viewing a range of wildlife.
Some of these include; lions, elephants, Buffaloes, Antelopes, jackals, among others. You will marvel at them as they gather what to put in their stomachs and others taking a rest.
The Savannah landscape in which they thrive is an attraction in its self. Return to the lodge for relaxation till lunch time after which you will gather at Mweya for a launch cruise on Kazinga channel at 3:00pm.
The 2 hour launch cruise takes you through the offers of the 45m long Kazinga channel including impressive views of the Nile crocodiles, Hippos, abundant bird life and a range of wild game quenching their thirst along the channel waters. Return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.
Accommodation: You will have dinner and overnight at your previous lodge.
Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, embark on the transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will drive through Ishasha where you have chances of seeing tree climbing lions before continuing to Bwindi for relaxation and overnight.
Accommodation: Chameleon Hill Lodge (Upmarket/luxury), Gorilla Valley Lodge (Midrange/standard) or Wagtail Eco safari Camp (Budget/Basic).
Day 8: Do Gorilla Trekking & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After your early morning breakfast, gather at the Park Headquarters Rushaga for briefing from the park rangers about the conduct of gorilla trekking activity.
After the short briefing, you embark on the challenging trek through the impenetrable jungle of Bwindi with its rugged landscape involving valleys, swamps, steep slopes and rocky areas amidst amazing jungle sounds and bird songs which is an attraction in its self.
You will finally come across these endangered apes in thriving in their ancient habitat foraging or socializing.
You will marvel at the gorillas as they welcome you, interact and finally say bye when your one hour with them is used up.
The opportunity to take as many photos as you can is availed to you while asking questions to your guide about these apes is up to your discretion.
Retreat from the activity and then embark on the transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation and overnight.

Day 9: Do Canoe Paddling & Community Tour
After a relaxed breakfast embark on the canoe paddle across the Lake exploring its rich islands that count to 29 in number with impressive scenery complimented by the surround hills of Kigezi and the water stretch of Lake Bunyonyi which is the second deepest in Africa.
The 5 – 6 hour activity involves a community tour to the island people exploring their traditions and their way of life. Retire from the activity for relaxation and overnight.

Day 10: Transfer to Kampala
After your breakfast, embark on the journey back to Kampala. The drive will expose you to country side scenery and economic activities that have sustained the lives of the local communities for centuries past among which include extensive Banana plantation and cattle keeping.
You will make a stop for lunch at Igongo cultural center 12km past Mbarara. You can opt for a 30 – 40 minutes’ tour in the cultural museum after which you will continue on the drive to Kampala to arrive in the evening.
