Uganda’s star attraction lives in Bwindi National Park and these are the Gorillas. Bwindi National Park hosts nearly half of the world’s Gorillas, over 400 out of 880 Mountain Gorilla population in the world.
Bwindi has over 12 habituated gorilla families/groups open for Uganda gorilla trekking safaris.
These Gorilla families are situated in different locations; Buhoma, Ruhija, Nkuringo, Nyakagezi, and Rushaga.
The habituated families by designation and location include; Ruhija sector/ region in the East has Oruzogo, Bitukura, and Kyagurilo. Buhoma sector in the north has Mubare Habinyanja and Rushegura. and Rushaga has Nshongi, Bweza, Kahungye, Busingye Mishaya, and Bikyingi. Bushaho is reserved for habituation.
Without habituation, there would be no Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safaris and Tours in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Besides the Gorillas, Bwindi has several primates suitable for Uganda wildlife safaris for instance baboons, chimpanzees, elephants, and antelopes.
Other attractions include; 350 species of birds,310 species of butterflies, 163 species of trees, 100 species of ferns, 27 species of frogs, chameleons, geckos, and also protects over 310 species of mammals.

During tracking, tourists are led by a ranger to get close to the gorillas and even have a chance to feed them for about one hour. Others include;

The best time for your Gorilla Trekking safari in Uganda is throught the year due to the favorable climate in Uganda. However, the most suitable time is during the dry months of June – September and December – February.
Bwindi is always cold in the morning and at night with average temperatures ranging from 7 – 20 degrees Celsius.
The coldest months are June – July, while wet seasons are March-May and September-November. The total annual rainfall is about 2390mm. Rainy seasons that happen in March-May are short and heavier in September-November.
