Day 1: Arrive in Rwanda At The Famous Kigali International Airport & Drive to Ruhengeri Where Volcanoes National Park is Located

You arrive in Rwanda at the famous Kigali International Airport where you are welcomed by the company representative, attend to short briefing about the trip and then embark on the transfer to Volcanoes National Park 116km about 2 – 3 hours’ drive.

The drive to the north west of the Country presents remarkable views of the scenic countryside with rolling hills and magical settlements. Retire for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 2: Do Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park And Relax At The Lodge

After a good breakfast at your lodge, you gather at the Volcanoes Park Headquarters Kinigi for the Rwanda gorilla trekking experience.

The encounter commences at 8am in the morning with gorilla family allocation and briefing but an earlier arrival offers you chances of enjoying the magical performances of the Kinyarwanda dance troupe and a self-served warm cup of coffee.

You embark on the hike through the jungle of Volcanoes on the slopes of the Virunga Volcanoes traversing the challenging landscapes, slippery surfaces, the dense jungle whilst enjoying the impressive bird songs and other jungle sounds.

Your moment with the mountain gorillas is a lifetime exciting memory as you will view them forage, play, socialize, and care for the young among other aspects.

The viewing is limited to one hour for conservation purposes though the entire trekking experience can last from 2 – 8 hours. Retreat from the activity and connect to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Do Golden Monkey Tracking in Volcanoes National Park And Explore The Musaze Caves

Following breakfast at the lodge, you gather at Kinigi Headquarters again but this time for golden monkey tracking.

The encounter commences at 7am with briefing after which you set out to the forest in search of these endangered ape species.

The golden monkeys are known to be thriving in the Virunga massif and Gishwati Forest National Park in the while world, therefore exploring them in their natural habitats is a maiden opportunity to appreciate their beauty and henceforth contribute to their conservation.

You explore the golden monkeys as they leap from branch to branch, tree to tree, make their interesting chatters with the views of their golden patches.

These species thrive in the Bamboo zone on the foot hills of Mount Sabyinyo which is also an interesting terrain to explore.

The activity lasts about 4 hours after which you will return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch. In the afternoon, you embark on the exploration of Musaze Caves one of the historical caves of Rwanda.

The Musaze Caves date far back to 65 million years ago from the lava flow from the Volcanic Mountains of Bisoke and Sabyinyo mountains.

The Musaze caves stretch to 2km inside featuring 31 cave entrances and a huge bat colony on the cave roof.

You are accompanied by an armed army personnel and the walk would last about 2 hours. Retire for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Drive Back to Kigali And Explore The Gisozi Genocide Museum

Following your relaxed breakfast, embark on the transfer to Kigali City 116km about 2 -3 hours exploring the amazing scenery en route before arriving in Kigali.

Upon arrival, you embark on the tour to the Gisozi genocide memorial which features various remains of some section of the Rwandese that lost their lives in the bloody genocide that befell Rwanda in the year 1994.

The site gives you a themed learning ground for the Rwanda’s horrific past. Retire to mark the end of the tour. You can catch up with a night flight if you have one.
